The Greenacres Mustangs brought home a comically large check after winning 2016-2017 Regional Autonomous Robotics Circuit Middle School Grand Champions April 29, 2017. The mustangs were the only middle school in Bossier Parish to place in all three RARC competitions, thus clinching the title!

During Competition 1, 7th grade students Christine Meister, Majed Shawakha, Caleb Hemmings, and Matthew Scripture brought home a second place finish with all GMS teams finishing in the top 10.

During Competition 2, 7th graders Caleb Hemmings, Tyson Burns, Christine Meister, Jayden Nguyen, Majed Shawakha, and Colin Patterson secured a third place win while all GMS teams finished in the top 20.

During Competition 3, a sixth grade team made up of Mohammed Jamhour, Lane Sit, and Kye Lehr brought in a second place win and secured the Grand Champion win for Greenacres!

For there efforts, every member of the GMS Robotics team has received a gold medal to commemorate the win. The school will receive a $1,500 technology grant to improve the program. Sponsor, Linda Morgan, plans to use the money to purchase new robots to accommodate the school's growing robotics program.
